Following breakfast, we travel over Rif Mountain to reach Chefchaouen, the Blue City, where we settle into a hotel for the remainder of the day and spend the evening in the Medina.
Free day to explore the striking contrast between the vibrantly painted medina (ancient town) and the surrounding mountains in Chaouen. Because of its natural beauty and laid-back vibe, Chefchaouen attracts a lot of tourists. The medina’s central plaza is dotted with eateries and crowded with people who are both visitors and residents interacting informally.
After breakfast, travel to Volibules via Meknes, the other imperial city, to see the Roman remains. The ruins are expansive and provide stunning views of the hills and valley. Go to Fes after that to inspect the hotel/riad.
Following breakfast, you will begin your exploration of Fes, the imperial capital of Morocco built by Moulay Idriss II in the eighth century. The Medina, Médersas Attarine, Fontaine Ennajarine, Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, Karawiyin Mosque, and the new medina in Fez Jdid are all on your itinerary.Return to the hotel/Riad in the evening.
After breakfast in the morning, travel to Merzouga via the Swiss-style village of Ifran, Morocco, and the cedar forests there. We will pause here for a little while to see the monkeys as they climb the trees.Next, lunch is served at the base of the Ayachi Mountain in Midelt, dubbed “the apple capital.”
We go via the Ziz Valley, which is renowned for its palm trees and the expanse of the oasis, and across the Tizi-n-Talremt mountain. The route is lined with many “ksars,” or little communities made up of lone homes. From here, we go to Erfoud, which is well-known for its fossils and date festival, and finally Er Rachidia.
Reach Merzouga. The remainder of the day will be devoted to seeing the dunes’ spectacular nighttime transformation. One night at the Desert Hotel/Riad.
After breakfast, make your way to Khamlia hamlet to take in the live Gnawa music. From there, go off-road to see the sand dunes and stop to have tea with nomads who are living in Berber tents. You’ll get a fresh perspective on life. After spending some time relaxing at the hotel, you will ride a camel into the midst of the dunes to witness the sunset. Once in the bivouac, you will spend the night in a nomadic tent.
Following breakfast, we will set off on an adventure into the heart of the Sahara to explore the pristine wilderness of southeast Morocco. We will pass the village of Ouzina, which offers magnificent sand dunes, and then continue through the Ziz River until we reach the village of Ramlia, where you will be able to walk and learn about the locals’ ape-like way of life. Next, be sure to check out the Auberge close to the village, where you can enjoy a stunning sunset view.
Following breakfast, you will continue your journey along the rugged and sandy Oued Ghris dry river until you reach the Gorges of M’harech. Along the way, you will pass by several settlements and nomadic communities with an abundance of Akasia trees, as well as various desert features including valleys and rocky mountains. Once in Zagora, check into the hotel or Riad.
Following breakfast, you will travel through the palm-plantation-lined Draa Valley, stopping at one of the breathtaking viewpoints to take in the ocean of palm trees and numerous Kasbahs. After leaving the Valley, you will drive eastward through numerous Berber villages until you reach the Todra Valley and Gorges, which is a great area for independent exploration and walking. After lunch, drive to Dades to see the hotel and the riad.
Following breakfast, you will travel to Ouarzazate via the Dades Valley, which features verdant farms, breathtaking gorges, and rose-colored sandstone slot canyons. From there, you will journey to Kelaa Mgouna, the village of roses, which is particularly picturesque in late April and early May when the roses are in full bloom. We go through the Skoura palm grove on the Road of Thousand-Kasbah till we reach Ouarzazate, sometimes known as the “Hollywood of Morocco.”Examine the Ouarzazate hotel/Riad.
Following breakfast, you will travel to Marrakech by automobile via the “fortified city” of Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, which is located along the old caravan route that once connected Marrakech with the Sahara.
